The Wilderness Society web site contains an analysis of the Federal Fire Budget process with recommendations for making it better. This activity will allow you to:

1. Examine the budget process as it directly relates to the fire budget for all
agencies;
2. Compare this process with their understanding of the budget process;
3. Define the concerns of internal and external concerns relating to the cost of wildland fire suppression; and,
4. Relate the wildland fire budget to the entire federal budget.

View the following web site at the Wilderness Society.
