Review a web site and answer review questions for Lesson 4A

Locate the web site that posts pocket cards and becoming familiar with their use.

Pocket cards can be a useful tool for the firefighter to know and understand past fire danger for a local area as well as current conditions and become aware of potential fire problems with the local unit.

Access the national web site at:

http://www.fam.nwcg.gov/fam-web/

Pull up a pocket card for your area and print a copy. Review the pocket card for your area with the NWCG standards.

http://fam.nwcg.gov/fam-web//pocketcards/standard.htm

Highlight any potential problems from the posted pocket card that need to be corrected and/or adjusted.

You have now completed Lesson 4A, Mgm't Implications of Fire Weather, Fire Behavior, and Fire Danger Rating.
