Dave Curry, D-510 Steering Committee Chair welcomed Kim Christensen, NICC Center Manager and Gerry Day, NWCC Center Manager to the 14th session of D-510. Kim addressed the students reminding them of the importance of the Expanded Dispatch Supervisory Dispatcher (EDSP) position in the national dispatch and coordination system. Although the tools and technology have changed in the expanded dispatch organization since Kim attended the beta D-510, the role and mission of the EDSP has not changed which is providing leadership, being a mentor and solving problems.
The two 2008 D-510 sessions hosted 71 students. After successfully completing D-510, the participants will be prepared to develop and manage an effective expanded dispatch organization to meet present and future needs of an incident.
